Almost There...

Ok, quick update! I managed to spend a good amount of time with my Xbox 360 over the weekend. I'm very close to finishing off Half-Life 2: Episode 2. I may have inadvertently screwed myself by believing Gordon Freeman's NPC counterparts. If that's the case, I may have to break out the cheat codes. I really don't want to cheat since it is just a game and cheating is stupid. Then again, it'd be very nice to take out Gordon's innumerable enemies with an unlimited supply of rockets...

If you've played Half-Life 2 and its two subsequent episodes, you'll know exactly where I'm stuck. I'm currently defending a certain "something" against a horde of "somethings" being escorted by groups of two or three "somethings". And there are many, many "somethings" attacking!

However, I was told by the NPCs that there would be no more" somethings" so I kinda let myself get low on ammo. And I failed to protect certain key buildings. But you know what? I'm probably still safe. Half-Life 2 is so well designed that I'm sure that the developers figured that others would play this part of the game the same way I played it. If that's the case, I should be able to save the day without resorting to cheats.

I'll give it an hour or two tonight. In "Daddy" gaming time, that's equivalent to playing for two days solid. If I can beat this part of the game in that space of time, I'll do it. If not, I'm breaking out the cheats. In any case, I'm finishing Half-Life 2 tonight! I'm pretty excited! It's been a great game and I can say that I'm very happy to have played this groundbreaking and thoroughly exciting series of games. But I'm happy to let it go and move on.

Speaking of moving on, I'd also like to spend some more time in Paradise City. Burnout Paradise is fantastic! I'm having fun picking up as many of the obscure achievements as possible. I may even go online and try my hand at some of the online achievements. I'll probably discuss some of these achievements over the next three or four days.

Have a great day!
